Anyway, I’ve fucked around & found out a few times.

PS: before I continue my story: I’ll be using the word “fuck around” a couple of times in this letter & I deeply apologize if it’s not something you’re comfortable with.

Bear with me, I promise it doesn’t mean anything crazy.

Like I was saying, I’ve had my fair share of “fuck around & find out” moments like every other person but the one I can think of off the top of my head happened a long long time ago when I was maybe 16?

Anyway, I was the one in charge of turning on & off the generator switch & I was duly warned to always wear my slippers whenever I wanted to do that. And I did. I wore my slippers until I forgot to one day & didn’t wear them when it was time to turn the switch.

Nothing happened to me. I got away with it without slippers.

Then I stopped wearing my slippers ‘cos it’s an added stress. And I got away with it many times. Until I didn’t.

The day came when I didn’t wear my slippers as usual & I went to turn on the generator switch.

I had fucked around long enough & it was time for me to find out. And I found out badly ‘cos I was electrocuted (aka shocked) that day. It was pretty bad & scary but it wasn’t too crazy, I was fine the next day. End of story.

Actually, that’s a terrible example of “serendipity”. Serendipity is more delightful than what I just shared.

It’s when something unexpected happens by chance leading to an amazing occurrence or discovery.

It’s passing through a different route when walking home one day & meeting the love of your life on the way. It’s fucking around & finding out.

“if you never fuck around, you will never find out” - the old man said at the end of the video.

So the next time you get the chance to do something different from the norm, like adding salt to your garri instead of sugar, maybe try it out?

You might either give yourself food poisoning or discover the next best recipe. Who knows. Just fuck around & find out :)

What next do I want out of life… I want to experience it. Specifically, I mean travel & discover. Those beautiful pictures I see online, I want to be at the center of it & soak it in. All those food, I want to know what they taste like. Pretty sure I have other skills/talents I’ll only know about if I experience life.

🐈 Kimiko is missing

kimiko has the craziest sleeping positions, this is nothing in comparison.

Sometime this month we had a few visitors over & Kimiko just disappeared into thin air.

We spent hours looking around the house for this guy & waiting for it to turn up but it just ghosted us.

Until later in the evening when the visitors left. Then bro crawled out of the kitchen store where it had been hiding sleeping & I was just like… “so this guy can be this smart? To know when someone from outside infiltrates the house & back away from them”

I was surprised & impressed actually. If only the smartness was an all-rounder. Because you can’t be that smart & still be chasing your own shadow in the dark or trying to prey on Suki the bird. Pick a hustle please.

did these in July. they look good but I’ve been having 2nd thoughts about this digital art thing. maybe we’ll talk about it in August 🤞

July came, and now it’s going. The mood for the month was giving “hopeless romantic” & the show I watched was so indulging.

Asides that, it was pretty uneventful. And I don’t mind it at all.

Next month though… August. I’m super excited for it. Number 1 reason being that it’s my birth month 🎈
