If you’ve watched the series - ‘The Boys’ then the name Kimiko should sound familiar to you. If you haven’t, no problem, you’ll get acquainted with the name pretty soon.

Hello investorrrrr 👋. If you wonder why I call you ‘investor’ (maybe ‘cos you forgot or you’re new here) it’s because you literally invested in ZigZag Zee by subscribing to this letter, hehe. So like, you’re forever an investor as far as I’m concerned & this founder is glad to have you here.

On to the matter for today.

So I asked chatgpt to ask me a few questions I could answer, chaotically. The original idea was for YOU to ask me questions so I’d answer in the most chaotic way that I can. Like an AMA (ask-me-anything) type of thing. But then the issue with that is that I can’t get to YOU until I put this letter out. Therefore chatgpt is subbing in for you, for today.

The link to anonymously ask me anything interesting (emphasis on interesting) will be at the end of this letter & then I’ll answer them in the next letter. Sounds good eh?

Q1-chatgpt: What is the most memorable experience you've had in your life so far?

me: the one where I almost burned down a whole house that didn’t belong to me or any of my family members. Okay, it wasn’t just me, it was me & Precious (my roommate in school) that almost burned down the house. Here’s what happened as far as I can remember (ps, this happened about 5-6 years ago).

We decided to burn our old clothes outside! during harmattan season!! were we thinking? Of course, we were. We just never thought a scenario would come that would make us sweet girls responsible for arson. We set the clothes on fire at the back of our room, turned our backs for 2 seconds & next thing the fire was already spreading across the walls of the building. Excuse me, where are you spreading to?? Bruh I was shook!

Now this building is actually a hostel with many other students & we don’t always have water like that in our compound but on this day, there was water. If there hadn’t been water available, zigzag zee might’ve never been born because they might just be releasing us from prison for Destruction of Property. The fire was eager to move around! But thankfully, everyone around was so helpful & most importantly, there was water.

There’s also a memory about being hit by an animal but that’s a gist for another day hehe.

Q2-chatgpt: What is your biggest fear, and how do you deal with it?

me: leaving Earth without tasting up to 50% of the food that’s in it. Honestly bah, I think out of 100% of the food on Earth, I’ve only tasted only about 1.5% of it. Maybe 2% flat. With food, I know for sure that I’m missing out ‘cos there’s sooo much food out there man. So many kinds to explore. Also, so many places to see, Earth is wide & I want to see places. And then there are books to read! interesting shows & kdramas to see! Bruh. There are so many things to do & there’s just one me it’s scary & little sad that I might not be able to do everything these before-

As for how I deal with it, as for the food & travel aspect, I live vicariously through other people and documentaries I watch. Books, I do my best to consume when I can, same with the shows. One. at. a. time.

New hobby 🎨

In the last letter, I spoke about a new hobby that I picked up in March but didn’t want to talk about yet in case I want to retreat without shame. As we, as I have seen it, I haven’t retreated yet.

It’s digital art. I’m learning digital art with Photoshop. You may or may not know that I draw, but it’s mostly the traditional pencil & paper kind(here’s my IG drawing profile). Now I have decided to switch it up by moving digital & let me tell you, it’s been tough. Ah, it’s tough. Photoshop is really intimidating. There are like a thousand different controls & options & as a beginner with the tool I’m like a child just learning how to walk. I barely know anything.

But I’m learning, it’s frustrating, but I’m learning. Hopefully, it sticks & I won’t give up. This is where YOU come in.

Can you do me a favor & be asking me once in a while how it’s going? Ask me when was the last time I picked up the drawing tablet to sketch something & if it has passed 1 week, konk some sense & motivation into me. I might dislike you after (and be like “what’s your business”) but it would only be temporary & you would be helping my future.

New character 🐈

Another thing I mentioned in the last letter is the appearance of a new character. We already have Suki the bird 🕊 (who says hello by the way) and now we have Kimiko (as per the newsletter title).

Kimiko is a kitten & we welcomed it to the family last month. 2 interesting facts about the guy:

It’s tiny & cute
It has no shame. I have never seen a cat without class or this level of “activeness”. Kimiko is shameless & it doesn’t get annoyed when you push it out of your room because of too much wahala. It will come crawling back looking for attention when in fact, it should be the other way around.

Another interesting thing about this Kimiko subject is that for the longest time, my dad opposed us bringing it into the house. The man didn’t want pets. But now that Kimiko is here, they are besties. Look, the same day the kitten came in, my dad was sending us links to “food for cats”. He allows it to snuggle & sleep off beside him sometimes too.

😴 Let’s round up, April…

…was chill. Literally & figuratively. Literally, because the rainy season is fully here & if not for how terrible the roads become during this period, I’d embrace it fully.

Figuratively because there weren’t that many highlights. Doesn’t mean it wasn’t good though. I love chill.

Eid-el-Fitr (end of Ramadan celebration) happened this month, & thanks to my brother who attacked me with this:

bro asked me to catch my sub & number 1 hit me in the face

I took it personal & got ready early without delaying anybody on Eid morning.

more of getting ready early enough to take pictures without rush, amen.

I’m not currently actively reading any book, which sucks. As for movies, Gangs of Lagos was a good watch.
